Hike and explore the Unkar Delta ruins in Grand Canyon national park, Arizona.
For one of the best history lessons on how Native Americans lived in the desolate Grand Canyon, the Unkar Delta is an excellent teacher.
From the boat beach, take the well worn trail towards the delta. The park service has spent a good effort making the trails to the ruins here, so the trail is easy to follow. There is even a printed guide book near the trail start if you would like additional descriptions of the ruins.
There are many pottery shards and corn grinding stones here, so please enjoy but leave them where you found them. There are several loop trails, so you can enjoy this area at your leisure and return to the boats when you're ready.
