To get to the trailhead: From the Phoenix area, take HWY87 North, leaving the city limits. You will drive about 50 miles from Fountain Hills to mile marker 239 (this is just past the turnoff to HWY-188). The Barnhardt Trailhead turn off to FR419 is well signed. Take this graded dirt road 5 miles West to the trailhead (the sign says 4 miles, but it's actually 5 miles). The graded road is in pretty good shape and most times of the year, passenger cars are probably OK. ]]></c:value>

To get to the trailhead: from the Phoenix area, take US-60 East towards Globe. Just after Miami and before globe, take HWY-88 (or 188 depending on the sign) left towards Roosevelt. After 20 miles on this paved road, turn left on the graded and well signed FR449 (near mile marker 235). There is lots of private property in this area, so please respect that property and follow the signs so hiker access isn't threatened. After 1.9 miles on FR449, take a left on FR449A. High clearance and 4 wheel drive is recommended here because the road crosses the creek several times, can be quite sandy, and there are steep grades. After an additional 5.2 miles, you will reach a signed trailhead and parking area. Please follow the signs to the public parking and leave the school undisturbed. ]]></c:value>

From the Phoenix area, take US-60 East, leaving the city limits. After leaving Apache Junction, continue about 8.5 miles, turning left onto signed Peralta Road (FR 77). After starting out as a paved road, this quickly turns into a maintained dirt road. After 5.6 miles, you'll stay left at the signed junction that heads towards the Peralta Trailhead. Go another 0.6 miles and park at the unsigned parking area and trail on your left. If you reach the obvious Peralta Trailhead, you've gone too far.]]></c:value>

To get to the trailhead: From the Phoenix area, take HWY87 North, leaving the city limits. You will drive about 35 miles from Fountain Hills to a signed exit between mile marker 222 and 223. The turnoff is signed as Sycamore Canyon. You will turn left across the highway (be careful!). This paved road will soon turn to dirt. After 1.2 miles, turn right onto unsigned dirt road FR201. After another 1.2 miles, you'll stay right at the junction between FR201 and FR25 (staying on FR201). Take FR201 all the way to the signed trailhead (approximately 11 miles from the highway). This road has some spectacular views but is not for those skittish of heights. High clearance vehicles are OK, 4wd is better. Not a place for passenger cars. ]]></c:value>
