Hike up Avalanche peak in Yellowstone National park
The trail takes off through the forested mountain side. The climb is steady and consistent. If you have a difficult time following the trail, there are orange reflectors or orange flags in the trees to help find the route. Eventually, as we neared the peak, we lost the trail altogether and just picked a good route to climb up to the peak.
We did this hike a little too early in the season (June), so snow covered much of the climb. The weather wasn't cooperating much either, so we were robbed of the great views of the area promised by our climb to the 10300 ft peak.
