From the Holbrook area, take I-40 East to exit 311 (24 miles). The North entrance to the Petrified forest is here. The parking for Tawa point is about 1.4 miles from the North Entrance on your right.

Hike from Tawa Point to Kachina point in Petrified Forest National park, Arizona.

There is a short and pleasant hike along a paved path that goes between Tawa point and Kachina point. If you look over your shoulder to your right, you'll be treated to changing views of the painted desert. From Tawa point to Kachina point is an easy 0.5 mile stroll.
